Founded in 1999 by Robin Brinster, Illumina Films has in its catalogue an impressive
collection of documentary films which have been shown widely at international film
festivals and by international broadcasters. Illumina Films focuses on documentaries
with meaningful cultural and social themes as well as historical, literary, human
interest and wildlife.

As with most documentary distribution companies, competition is fierce and the big
companies have the clout to create and sell large packages. To work within this
landscape, Illumina Films keeps its catalogue relatively small, choosing those often
little known but uniquely special documentaries so that it can devote to them much
needed energy and individual attention.

Robin Brinster has acted as Head of Sales for some notable production and distribution
companies. These include American/Dutch distribution and production company TV
Matters which specialized in classic feature films and music productions with American
public broadcaster PBS and Nature Conservation Films the production company behind
Holland¹s great wildlife filmmaker Hugo van Lawick producing among others the Leopard
Son and Serengeti Symphony working with National Geographic and Discovery.

Illumina Films currently works closely with productions companies and has an exciting
range of projects in development.
